will king 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Sharon, you know that I love photoshop so it pains me to say this, but I think the selective coloring doesn't work in this case. Only because I think the photo of this adorable girl is strong enough to stand on it's own merit without any added effects. To me the gift box competes for my attention and I think the girl should be the only subject that matters in this shot. You really captured the girl's innocent expression very well. Some other feedback would be to include her other ear in the composition and maybe blur out the brick wall. You're doing great Sharon. I really enjoy looking at your photos. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Sharon-First let me say this is a priceless capture. I love the expression. You obviously have a talent for kids! :) Secondly, I find the artifact on her face distracting, easy to fix. I also learned early on (but it's not always easy to apply with kids because they move around so much) that you must be on their exact level. If not you distort their tiny features when you are up close. This causes an ever so slight perspective distortion. If this was mine, I would use PS and improve the exposure on the shadowed side of her face, adjust the perspective & hand-color the child lightly to tie in with the package. I would smooth the artifact and presto, a different look. Not better, just different. Super cutie!!!! Link to comment
