Sharon, I like how you composed this hot. The expression on the guy is great and his head resting on his hand looks comforatble and he looks relaxed and "unposed". Great job with that. My only feedback would be that this shot is too soft for a guy. The lighting technique or some post processing you did makes his skin look too soft...for a guy. I think this same technique would have been excellent for a woman. Hope that didn't come across as male chauvinististic. That's just in my opinion. I like to see the textures in male faces and I like the softened/glamour look for female faces. Nice B&W though.

you know, you are right! And I would like to say that you know how to critique constructively with the gentlest touch! You are a gentleman! But yes, I am entering this in a juried show and I am going to reduce the soft focus....make him more rugged! Thanks Will, you are a good friend! Thanks, Sharon

I would like to point to a big plus with this shot...your use of negative spaces...I love the dark areas in this...I teach my students how to not fear the shadows, the playground of the mind ! I like your Bio, God bless your "patron" he is indeed lucky and that you give him credit that is do to him, is all the more grace on you.

Thanks Sharon and Roger. Sharon, I'm glad you weren't offended by my opinions. When I critique a photo I really try to be honest, focusing on the positives and offering suggestions for improvement. By no means am I an expert, especialy with portrait photography so I try to express my opinions as just that; an opinion rather than an "expert" Sharon, I really do like your recent works in B&W. I'm just now starting to get into B&W. It's harder than I thought it would be. Seems like you're doing a fine job with it. Sharon, I also appreciate your honest opinions too.
