Regina ..... the 'studio' is a corner of my barn ... and it's almost as cold as outside. Below 0 Celcius the day i made this. I like using the barn for 'studio' because the many possibilities for light and backgrounds ( walls .. and wooden plates being kept in there) .. and my biggest fright is if my husband starts renovating out here too ... Thanks for your nice words of by bio pic, but as you can see there is no wind, no waves, no boat, no sails etc .. so I have nothing (smiling a little)

Lou Ann... ha , you are the only one on PN having seen the barn in reality and I remember what you said when you saw it .. and yes, it's a good place to 'shoot' ... but my - there is cold there.

Glad you noticed the lyric fitting well for the picture. I don't know if you are familiar with the song - a duet going on between two lovers whether she should stay ... or go back to her "world" .. it's her accessories on the picture and I imagine them having the discussion. Sweet little song.

I'm with the others who think this the best of three (though all of them are nice). For me, the light of the candle crystallizes the shot.

it is interesting because it has an unreal feeling to it, the items are carefully arranged, the candle-light warm and homey whereas the location is cold and empty (of course the whole scene is perfectly lit and photographed)

Beautiful lighting in this barn, Bente. . . I'm really looking forward to more still lifes from this location. . . hope it warms up soon . . .

The image and your commentary make this stand out miles and miles above the norm. Very creative work.

this is such wonderful light! It has a very wintry feel to it - and as much as I feel for you in that chilly barn - I can't hope for warmer weather - because then the light will change!! (people don't realize that, sometimes) This is quite an effective still-life. I can picture the girl having to put her cold-weather togs back on - slowly and reluctantly, while her lover coaxes her to stay a little longer. Nicely done!
