i had this photo in the critique forum the other day but, following a

suggestion, have cropped the rocks at the bottom

Indeed, it works better without the foreground rocks. They kill a bit the a-priori idea (or rather stereotype) of a sandy desert. Infortunatly, the aspect ratio seemps to suffer, here... what about cropping a bit off the right as well, up to the shadow of the first jeep?

Rather a long trip.

I like the expanse of the shot and the colors. I did not see the rock version. But this one really speaks of desert isolation. Cropping the right side, to me, would affect that feeling.
