cherlyn 1 Posted December 29, 2005 Another view of Lake Kanas from the hill top. We were shortbreath after climbing thousand over steps to have a bird's eye view of this Lake. If you remember, I have not unveil the mystery legend surrounding Lake Kanas ( For more image info, pls click the link. ) Here's the legend : Over a thousand years,it is said that some animals drinking along the lake, like horses and cows, have been dragged into the lake & swallowed by the "lake monster" over time. Sometimes even some people boating in the lake have disappeared mysteriously. In 2003, some local officials, who inspected the security of the lake, saw two huge subjects flying out of the water as high as 20 meters, before quickly diving back into the water. Moreover, some tourists have also seen a similar phenomenon. It is said that the monster is actually a kind of rare fish named Hucho taimen in Chinese, also called huge red fish, with the longest one measuring up to over 10 meters. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted January 2, 2006 What a landscap Cherlyn, well composed.I like the story attached to it.Are the colors so strong in reality? or you have added saturation? Well seen, Pnina Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 3, 2006 Pnina, the colours are this strong, depending what time of the day you took. In this case, I was there about noon, so colour is a little paler & I have darken & increase the contrast. Not much saturation done though. Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted January 8, 2006 Beautiful scene. The water colour is amazing. The legend is interesting. You may have heard of the Loch Ness Monster said to inhabit Loch Ness in Scotland. The legend goes back some time but the first photo appeared in the same year as the creation of the Scottish Tourist Board.... Link to comment
