jmoody 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Just off the side of the WORST road I've ever been on after nearly 5 hours driving... I wish I'd stopped at more places and taken more time, but... This is all I had the patience for. Any thoughts? Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Jeff, excellent composition on this one. You followed the rule of thirds, which I seem to always breal. Good reflection in the water. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted December 27, 2005 Hello, very moody image (not only thanks to your name), nice spot, delicate colouring. I would play a bit with the composition, e.g. crop at left and above a bit to tighten it up. cheers Jana Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 27, 2005 Very nice composition. That foreground tree and it's reflection really anchor it. Nicely done. I prefer the uncropped version. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Yeah, I would've loved to have found a way to compose with a little less of the mountain behind but just didn't seem to work out. I do actually like the cropped version though Jana, thanks! Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Terrific shot, Jeff. I'm thinking about how I feel about Jana's cropping suggestion. It would be interesting to see a side-by-side. Your recent postings have been very good. Happy New year. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted December 30, 2005 i may upload some of the other tries that had have slightly different compositions (especially one that I really like, but didn't think it was sharp enough, but then realized that I'd focused more on the water... so, flipped it vertical & was happier) Thanks for the visit and the compliment (though I'm not sure what that says about my "earlier" posts :-) (just kidding)). Happy New Year as well! Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted December 30, 2005 No disparagement intended. I just think your skill and eye have grown. I wish I could feel the same about my own. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Just as long as it's not a "kinkade" painting! :-) (gag puke!). Thanks for stopping by. I think I'm slowly coming around to both your ways of thinking on this one. The closer crop does work nicely doesn't it? Link to comment
fotodaniella 0 Posted August 22, 2006 Dreamy place and what fantastic colors of the trees, perfect reflection completes this unique scene, well done! Link to comment
cheryl caswell 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Hwy 178 through the canyon happens to be a great place to photograph. Sure, you have to dodge the cars that travel the roadway, and the limited space of points to stand at to do any shooting due to brush and rocks; it's still a nice place. Link to comment
