the visual journey - gallery i THE REVELATION OF DAWN

One magical morning on the rim of the Grand Canyon. As the

atmosphere cleared after a snowstorm at first light I witnessed one

of the most beautiful scenes I've come across in my lifetime. In

this capture I used the direct lighting to help simplify the scene

and create contrasts that isolated the compositional elements of the

landscape.

Wow, this is really an amazing photo.

It clearly states in the description, there was no manipulation other than removing a small bit of flare. This matches the slide almost exactly.

You are lucky to have been present to witness this phenomenon. We are very lucky that you have been able to capture it so well. Light, cloud and mist have combined to dramatic effect. It's a shame you have less than 20000 hits on this shot.
