kslonaker 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Trying out my Christmas present - a portable bird blind. Actually, with mockingbirds, you don't need anything; they will let you walk right up to them! Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted December 26, 2005 Very nice, Kim - good DOF and good detail. The green BG makes it work well. Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Thanks, Richard and Julio. The background is bushes and leaves at a distance that works well with this DOF. Link to comment

smile_my_friends 0 Posted December 28, 2005 I LOVE this bird, he/she looks so sweet in the other picture and so agressive and protective in this one Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 28, 2005 CHiPS, do I look like a tree??? Caitlin, this bird LOVES to pose! I can walk up very close and he/she just sits there if I don't move suddenly. Link to comment
smile_my_friends 0 Posted December 28, 2005 Yea, you gotta love thoes mockingbirds! The first time i saw one in Florida, he/she stayed calling above my head for 20 minuetes as I obsereved/identified (didn't have my book with me) enough time for another very amature birder to come out of her house and observe as well. Cool birds! Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted December 29, 2005 The height of fashion, Colin! I'm shooting a wedding on Saturday and am considering wearing the portable blind. :) Caitlin, I do like mockingbirds - when I've given up getting any bird shots, one comes along and sits nicely in the light, as this one did.
