Great shot! Quebec City puts on quite the show at night! Everything is lit up so beautifully. Can I ask you about your settings, ISO and speed? Are you using a tripod here? I would like to try some night time shots too and that is why I'm asking. Joyeux Noel !

FANTASTIC Christmas shot, everyone just feel the nicely & happy of the holiday! I hope you have a wonderful time Gaetan!!!

Here are the information. Camera is a Canon PowerShot G2 and I always use a tripod to take that kind of photo. It is a Manfrotto tripod and it is stable. I use also the self-timer of 10 seconds.

 

ISO : 50; Exposure time : 3.2 sec.; F-number : 8; no flash; Metering mode : pattern; Exposure mode : manual; White Balande : manual (incandescent).

 

Hope this information will help. With pratice you will find the best exposure for a specific situation

Thank you so much for the pointers. I'll make a note of this and it should get me started in the right direction.The lowest ISO have on my camera is 100 so I will have to make adjustments for that. I would love to be able to take a shot like this one.
