Woooohhh, great mystical mood in this picture, Bianca! Excellent and very creative idea!!! The abandoned factory hall is a perfect and beloved location for a goast to hang around. You know I love this kind of pictures. It really gives me the creeps but in a positivie way!:~)

BTW, It looks if he or she is running to reach the end of the year;-)

Thanks very much dear Bianca for commenting my pictures each time again (and so sweet) in the past year. I whish you and yours a Very Happy, healthy, peaceful and creative 2006!!! En dat we nog maar vaak van elkaars en andermans werk mogen genieten.

Met een dikke welgemeende kus het ouwe jaar oud en het nieuwe jaar in! Liefs, Ada:~)

Amazing. Wonderful shadow, superb.

Would you put another shadow of the xactly same type going in the opposite direction (facing us) on the left (more lit up) side of the corridor? I think it would look cool. As a symbol of circulation.

If not, then I would perhaps even cut out the left side of the shot, leaving the blue-ish part of the picture.

Or... what am I saying. It would already be someone else's work... Lovely shot. Love the shadow, the the fabric flapping in the air....

great! Good work Bianca. Well thought, achieved and composed. I only wish to see it larger : )

Happy new year!

This is lovely, but you may want to consider cropping from the left side. The light regions on the left detract from the mysterious feel, and they draw the eye away from the subject. Just a thought!

As usual, a brooding and interesting compsition and image...I like it.

What's your process for something like this?

Thanks everyone.... Cutting the left is something I haven't thought about, because I think it's very charactaristic for the setting, but I see what you mean Jenny and Vi P, it's brings maybe a bit more mystery.... Thank you so much for thinking with me... ;-)

Sometimes I 'design' a photo before I shoot it... I think everything through and go exactly the way I want to go. This one is developed after the shoot. Because it's an old deserted building and it's on the other side of my country and strictly forbidden to entry, hihi. So I didn't know what to expect... I had some ideas, but they where more shaped when I was behind my computer...

Excellent, and thanks! I wouldn't cut the left- it's an uncommon comp, but a very effective one.

Now be careful out there - don't get arrested by the police. Just be extra sneaky...

I took a self-guided tour of an abandoned, sealed mental institution not too long ago myself. Daring that I could be arrested for it, perhaps - but overall, adventurous and very, very creepy. Enjoy!

I know... it's amazing when you are in a building that is totally empty, with the past hidden in the walls. This was an old factory, after 2 hours you could almost hear the employees whispering.... Brrrrr, very creepy but also comfortable is a strange way. For me this is the 'soul' of the building in a abstract manner. Thanks for your input! Greetz!

P.S.

Did you bring your camera with you on your fieldtrip, I'm very curious at your adventures...

Yup - you described it very, very well. Now, imagine letting yourself in through the broken window of a sealed lunatic asylum, and finding large refigerator doors, dripping water from the ceilings, smells you couldn't identify...creepy. Me and pals lasted about 8 minutes, then figured we'd had enough - which meant we'd seen too many horror movies, and didn't want to be in one...

Yes, I took the camera...
