jay_patel 0 Posted December 22, 2005 Leading lines created by the tire tracks and snow banks, warm tones in the snow, Great colors in the sky and a good exposure makes this one of your best works yet. My only suggestion would have been to leave a bit more room on the top over the middle tree in case someone wants to frame it. And Merry Christmas to you too... Link to comment

jerry ting 1 Posted December 22, 2005 Kim, bravo on this one. Very tough lighting situation but you nailed it. Did you use a graduated ND filter on this one other than the post process you mentioned? The color is just great. Link to comment

kim_tural 0 Posted December 23, 2005 I am overwhelmed by all your lovely thoughts and responses at this time. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for the great year I've had. PN friends are generous and caring people and I owe all of you so much. I have had a really fun time here and have grown in my skills thanks to the sharing and nurturing spirit of all of you wonderful photographers. I still have so much to learn and hope to continue acquiring the knowledge I need to make photography even more satisfying. Once again, thank you!!! Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Anders, thanks for the link to your photo and your technical explanation of it. The colour in my photo was edited unlike your non-manipulated shot. The sky is blue in my original photo. Jay, so nice to see you. I will keep your suggestion in mind for future shots, just in case someone wants to frame it!! Jerry, I haven't purchased any filters yet, all the colour alteration was done in my studio. :-)) This picture was taken early in the afternoon and while the sky was clear in the background the sun was filtering through some thin cloud making it sunny but not too bright. That must have helped me with the exposure. I was wondering about winter/snow photography with the new camera.I found the most dramatic colour changes were done adjusting the Hue in this case. I know I have to acquire a filter or two. What would be your suggestion of the most important ones to get? See I'm picking your brains now. Thanks for dropping by. ML Vasser, I have to thank you for your fine description of this image. It's the first time I've ever seen a comparison to a Viennese Pastry. Yummy! CHiPS, You have outdone yourself my friend ! Thank you for your cheery signs of the season. Colin, I wish you some snow. This shot was taken the day after a 40cm (16 inches) snowfall. The biggest we have had here in 30 years according to the weather report. We used to get a lot more snow when I was a child... or maybe I was just shorter?? Link to comment
