Holy Boy or Photo Session? Religion or Business? Sometimes it is

difficult to see the difference. I appreciate your feedback and

suggestions. Ratings below 4 without comments are not very helpful. Karl

Hello Karl, I have a photo of the bpy with his leg behind his neck... I love this place in Pashupatinath. There the Nepali have done a great job in rebuilding the small temples. the first 3 Years a lot of the smaller temples in the upper part of Pashupatinath have been rubish... but then the Napali startet to rebuild them with original material. ...

The picture is good... cheers alex

Thanks Alex for your comment. Kathmandu was our home between 1995 and 2003. I have witnessed the changes, also the positive ones. Hope to see your Sadhu boy with crossed legs behind the neck. I miss Nepal. Karl

Nice.

This also makes me miss Nepal. I have some photos of sadhus at Pashupatinath on film, never scanned. Have you been there recently? Do you feel safe traveling there nowdays?

Thanks all for your comments. Cathy, I have not been in Nepal since almost one year, but the feedback I get is that the last tourist season was the best one since long time. Select the routes which are recommended by the trekking agencies. Avoid involving in any delicate disputes and let the guide settle the business with the Maoists. Be prepared for delays. All the best. Karl

yes I could sing a song of this... on my Annapunrna Circuit (2004) we ended in Beni - the Maoists proclaimed a 3 day baned - no vehicles to get. Staying 3 days in Beni is neither interesting nor save (4 weeks earlier the Maoists attacked the military post and several hundrets of soldiers and Maoists have been killed in this clash) So we decided to rent some bikes to ride 90 km to Pokhara. ONly one gear, rubish breaks... 9 hours ride, my a. was swollen. about the half time we had a nice thunderstorm... but I would do it again. As Karl said: it is not difficult as long you keep your eyes open and your nose out of things you don't have to care about... Namaste Alex

For some reason, the is my favorite out of your portfolio so far. It just speaks to me and it culminates the essence of all of your photographs. elisabeth

May I say, the difference sometimes is difficult to see because it is not there. Great image this boy made. Regards.

Marvelous framing on this one. He seems to either be waving but looks a bit more to be cupping his hand by his ear to hear you better. Very Nice!
