kslonaker 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Please compare to the color version. Preference? Link to comment
kctwain 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Kim, I've looked back and forth three or four times. They're both very nice. I prefer the sepia, probably because it's done so rarely with bird pics. Nice work, as usual. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Where's the color version. You may want to post a link. I haven't seen the color version, but I REALLY do like this version. It has a very Earthy tone to it. ~Will Link to comment
reddoor 0 Posted December 17, 2005 I like the effect. The dof, sharpness and composition is also well done. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 17, 2005 I did this a bit differently than my usual sepia effects - I selected grayscale, then back to RGB, then adjust color balance. I used red/yellow for midtones & highlights and blue/cyan for shadows to get this particular color. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Compared to the other mockingbird picture that is in color, this one easily for me. It's a very nice shot, Kim. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Thanks, Jamie - I printed this out 12 x 10 and it looks pretty good - think I'll use it in an upcoming Camera Club exhibit. Link to comment
midhun 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Kim, very nice sepia toning and a special thanks for sharing how you achieved the color. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Thanks Kim. It is hard to decide I like both of them. I'll flip a coin. Merry CHRISTmas, ~Will Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 18, 2005 I think I prefer the sepia version myself. It seems to have more richness than the color version. These bird are very neutral colored anyway, so it's not like making a cardinal sepia, where you might detract by doing so. Link to comment
