Kim, I've looked back and forth three or four times. They're both very nice. I prefer the sepia, probably because it's done so rarely with bird pics. Nice work, as usual.

Where's the color version. You may want to post a link. I haven't seen the color version, but I REALLY do like this version. It has a very Earthy tone to it. ~Will

I did this a bit differently than my usual sepia effects - I selected grayscale, then back to RGB, then adjust color balance. I used red/yellow for midtones & highlights and blue/cyan for shadows to get this particular color.

Thanks, Jamie - I printed this out 12 x 10 and it looks pretty good - think I'll use it in an upcoming Camera Club exhibit.

I think I prefer the sepia version myself. It seems to have more richness than the color version. These bird are very neutral colored anyway, so it's not like making a cardinal sepia, where you might detract by doing so.

Definitely this one brings warmer feeling... and I like this better. But the other one is also nice in its own way... I like both.

We are happy too,Kim. Innovative use of sepia tone,makes this image beautiful.Composition and DOF are very good. I prefer this image to the colored one.
