PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 16, 2005 Hello, David. I like the shot, you have captured a beautiful moment here. The fog bathing in low sunlight, probably just before dissolving to clear the scene for a sunny day. How did you manage the large dynamic range ? Best regards, Peter Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted December 16, 2005 Peter thanks for your comments. The dynamic range on this one is all in the camera. The 5D definitely has better range than did my 20D. Anyway, I appreciate your comments... Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted December 16, 2005 The fog looks good even in jpeg. All kinds of interest in the tree line underlined by the color of the grasses, water leading in - recipe for success. Regards, Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted December 16, 2005 it's the sun lifting the fog which makes it - very nice mood-capture Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Thanks Daily, Pawel, and Andrea. Glad this one resonates with you. This was one of those days that sooths the soul... Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 17, 2005 David, one after the other... The huge foggi space in contrast of the quite clear fg. and both of them connected by the fog that is reflected in the water( with the trees)... earth and sky complemented each other, very beautiful image David.. Pnina Link to comment

carsten_ranke 0 Posted December 17, 2005 From the bold tones in the foreground to the softest fog in the distance, great depth. Awesome tonal quality again. A special lighting with the raising fog, very attractive. Natural colors, great detail. Cheers Carsten Link to comment
frederick eberhart 0 Posted December 17, 2005 David, delightful tones and texture transistions. Another image that pulls you in. Ah, for a canoe! Best, Fred Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted December 18, 2005 You're on a roll David. A beautiful colour palette augmenting a great composition. Your low positioning of the horizon works brilliantly. Excellent work. Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted December 19, 2005 Like the similarity/differences between the three sections of riverbank, all topped off by the background trees. Emotionally, leaves me a bit split. I want the fog to last longer, to get more shots from it, but the clear sky shows me its going to be a great day... Link to comment

jeremy freeland 0 Posted December 22, 2005 Another great shot, and I echo the comments above - woudn't change a thing. Particularly like the delicate light and colours on the trees at the head of the channel. Best, Jeremy Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted December 26, 2005 Beautifully soft as the fog slowly lifts, creating a misty dreamy feel. Beautiful indeed. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted December 30, 2005 I do not remember to have seen anything like this. I wonder if a "lifting fog" is a real natural phenomenon or just your metaphoric interpretation of the image. In any case the photo is very beautiful and interesting. Best wishes. Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Thanks everybody for your comments. Manolis, this fog and these low, coastal clouds are actually being burned off by the sun. This can happen very quickly -- going from thick clouds with no blue sky showing to a cloudless blue sky sometimes in a matter of minutes. Interesting to observe. Thanks again to you all... minicucci 0 Posted April 19, 2006 David: I must have missed this one during my brief hiatus from Pnet. It is just flat out gorgeous. A good-to-be-alive image. Lovely. Link to comment
