I like the composition close like this. The rocks in the fore/mid ground make the shot. They add an interesting element to the flat, perfect symmetry to the mountain. The sky above seems like it was a little dull, to me, nothing is missed. I would however try to mask the upper portion of the image in photoshop and play with the levels, it may need a little contrast. I like the cooler tones on the upper portion of the image, and the green/warmer tones on the lower half, but the colors in the upper half dont have the intensity that the lower half does.

Just look yours photo to understand what did you mean about day light photos when commented my photo "orchard". The rule of photo-skill says: do not divide photo in two parts... (smile)

Brian,

I ran across this image by accident (it was at the bottom of the mirrorless monday) page. I didn't know what it was, but right away it reminded me of the Lake District. Now, I have been to the Lake District once, 3 decades ago when I was in high school. After checking my travel log from those days, the closest I came to Stickle Tarn was Bowfell on a somewhat roundabout hike from the Eskdale Youth Hostel to Scafell. So, I'd say you captured the spirit oof the landscape very well. I like the composition with the edge of the tarn down the middle, but the symmetry broken by the boulders on the right. It shows just enough sky to convey the general mood. Well done, and thanks for the memories.
