Beautiful photograph Donna. The form of the bird is dramatic over this wonderful water.I like the reflecting colors and patterns of lines in the pond.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I feel very lucky to have been able to get this shot. . .After I saw this pond I turned my car around and drove home to get my camera. . . I only got one crack at it. . and trying to find this kind of color around Houston is not easy. . .

 

Richard, I think you're right about the corners on the right hand side of the image. . . the top needs to either be cropped or darkened a little and the bottom right needs to be corrected because it's a bit overpowering.

This bird is a Great Egret. . . its legs are all black. . . I guess I took the liberty of lightening them in the name of artistic license. . . they're fairly common in East Texas especially around shallow lakes and ponds. . . I don't believe we have any white herons. . .
