Rated WAY too low, imo! The lighting and expressions are very appealing. There is maybe just a touch too much brightness on the little girl's cheek, but that can easily be toned down in PS. What a special gift for your neighbors!

Maybe I felt like your family portrait came up short because I had just seen this image. This is one of the nicest images I've seen in a long time. They are so perfectly natural! This is probably what I'm longing for in the family portrait!

Wonderful photo, wonderful gift. You know listening to the huricane victims they all mentioned losing all their photos! People have asked me if I had to get out fast...what photo album would I take! So...WONDERFUL gift, thoughtful.

Howard I think it is a gift for Your PN friends too. I feel the breeze of happyness of the loving sister and the little bundled up baby feels it too.

Howard- Here's my opinion for what it's worth:

I love the pose, your perspective view is lovely. I agree with Kim about the hot spot on the little girl's cheek. If this were mine I would lighten the entire image, which I think defines the beautiful eyes of the little girl a little better. I would also smooth their skin a little. To me it is just a little dark. Easier to show than tell. I know you don't mind, so I played a little to show you what I mean.

But overall, this is a wonderful capture and because my personal taste is on the light side with kids, I'd lighten it, it makes it almost look magical! Nice capture.

Howard- I might even crop just a little. Just because I want all the concentration on their faces. They are adorable!

Howard- I couldn't resist hand-coloring this. I didn't do a great job, hand problems & all, but small files are great for me to practice on & keep up my skills. I hope you don't mind.

Thanks for the ideas and I am glad you had fun. Hey, what are friends for! The hand coloration is amazing. Every color is 100% on to the original image. Glad you are feeling better. Have a happy holiday.

Planning on feeling a lot better after my surgery!!! January 13th (of course it's a Friday the 13th :0 ) So after surgery, another cast, hard & soft & 6 weeks of therapy, I am believing I will be back to normal sometime the middle of April. Sounds like a long time, but if it works it will be worth every second!

Have a Merry Christmas & a wonderful, exciting, creative & personally satisfying New Year!! :)

Wow Jayme & Howard - outstanding collaboration. I LOVE the hand coloring. It is wonderful with the darling pose. Her eyes are amazing. Jayme - your better with a broken arm than most people are with good arms.

I like the lighter approach that Jayme had illustrated above. The hand coloring version is a knockout! A very solid capture and more importantly, you must be proud of your beautiful grandkids!

Isn't is great to know that as the unrelenting demands of our world hurtle us towards the end of year break, there are still some people out there who have the 'do good factor' in their hearts. Howard, this is a superb, angelic image. Well done, I take my hat off to you.
