Guest Guest Posted December 9, 2005 I like the expression and light on this owl's face. If you don't mind, where did you take this? ie, part of the world. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted December 9, 2005 This was taken at National Aviary, Pittsburgh PA. Here is the link to their website. http://www.aviary.org Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 9, 2005 Thanks for the information. That's not that far for me. Maybe I can make it there one day. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted December 9, 2005 Pick a weekday to avoid tourists. Bring your tripod, flash light and 'big' lenses. BTW, if you plan to make the trip during the winter time keep your camera equipments (especially lenses) in room temperature before you go into the facility. Extreme temperature change (it's very warm inside) will cause moisture gather on the lens surface. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 10, 2005 Thanks for the tips for visiting. I can't manage the "big" lens unfortunately. I use a 70-200mm with a 1.7 TC which gives me 340mm with a digital camera. Of course there's the digital effect that makes this about 500mm effectively due to the field of view crop effect. I'm never convinced about this though! Regards. (PS. I enjoy your photos).
