What a place! You've almost got me looking into flights already! :-) Beautiful colors and an interesting angle. Don't know what your lens capability was or if you were already backed up against another building, but might've been nice to see the top of the door frame too

The colours are striking. I might be tempted to crop off the orange (?) arch on the right as it doesn't seem to add anything and seems to me to reduce the impact of the blue. 5/6

i like the Color and composition. Leaves me curious what the yellow structure is on the bottom-right corner. I would have added a bit on that side or just cropped it out.

When you are commisioned to shoot photos for a client, some times you must make some concessions for your client,s benefit or the page layout of a magazine, book, etc. That means crop off the image a bit or live space for text or logos. Here yes the frame top of the door is missing"broken ?" it is a very old door. The yellow/orange color right bottom of the image,it is again part of a broken arch.If you draw a notional diagonal line from the one edge of the frame to the other, you may? see that the balance is right.I like my photo as it is !-but i also respect your opinion!-cheers Markos.

Markos -

The obvious allure of this capture is the color... just as compelling is the texture throughout and the aged appearance working in harmony them.  I can imagine this image on a very overcast day with even deeper hues and color saturation... maybe a little rain to enhance the mood. I could even see this in bw with the red door colorized. This image has so many possibilities. It's striking!

I loved the chipped stair...it adds even more authenticity to this shot. Your composition (POV) is avant-garde and therefore gives this work an edgy feel.

All The Best,

Catherine
