gaetanchevalier 5 Posted December 8, 2005 Great capture of a beautiful bird. Excellent metering offer nice colors. Sharp image with great details. Congratulation. Link to comment
ben neptun 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Very nice. Great timing. This head angle is very interesting. Nice composition. The red/orange flower takes some of the attention away from the bird. 5/7 Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 8, 2005 This is a very nice bird picture, the "pose" the color, the contrast work very well... The only problem is the distracting bright orange thing on the left. A good crop could have made this image much better. Link to comment
dmozzherin 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Thanks everybody for the comments! Robert and Ben, I personally like to keep the backgound berries in the picture. I think their shape speaks with the shape of the jay's head and their colors add to blue colors of the bird. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 8, 2005 Dmitry, your results are stunning, the details and sharpness let you nearly touch it....I still think that the berries are a bit of competition to the bird, because of the vivid colors that are taking my eyes to it, so maybe bluring the stem more so it will be only a hint, what do you think? cristi 0 Posted December 8, 2005 i think..the original is excelent....no other modification....congratulations...cris Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted December 8, 2005 Dmitry, I prefer to keep the orange as well. Actually I think that's the reason why this BJ portrait is so unique. I am very impressed by the fine quality of this image shooting at such high ISO (800). Congrats and thanks for stopping by my port. BTW, you have a very nice portfolio. Link to comment
eye2eyephoto 0 Posted December 8, 2005 yes!! the detail is amazing! I personally like the dof your comp provided. no crop!! perfect the way it is. wish I had your optics... and the 20D at 800iso... wow... clean and nice, eh? move over nikon... ;o) Link to comment

cappoldt 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Sex for peanuts? You can get that in some areas of Brooklyn, too. Link to comment
pdoyle 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Really unique and wonderful shot of this jay! I do think the red/orange in the background is a distraction from your subject, but still love this image. Link to comment
khawar1 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Great model rezor sharp but but but DISTRACTING red patches in Bbackground. hate these type of BG. 4-7 Link to comment
dmozzherin 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Pnina, Chris, Pinar, Jerry, Jack, Juan, Chris, Philip, Saleem, thanks for your comments and your opinions! Jerry and Jack, one good thing about freezing a camera to its bones in winter -- the noise goes down and iso800 is not as terrible anymore! Nikon or Canon, all cameras will do the same. To Chris Appoldt -- Sex for peanuts in Brookling? Hmmm, I am not sure what I am afraid the most -- AIDS or bird flu :-? Link to comment
karl_bartels 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Sharp image, superb color and great timing ! Good job. Regards. Link to comment
