Very nice. Great timing. This head angle is very interesting. Nice composition. The red/orange flower takes some of the attention away from the bird. 5/7

This is a very nice bird picture, the "pose" the color, the contrast work very well... The only problem is the distracting bright orange thing on the left. A good crop could have made this image much better.

Thanks everybody for the comments! Robert and Ben, I personally like to keep the backgound berries in the picture. I think their shape speaks with the shape of the jay's head and their colors add to blue colors of the bird.

Dmitry, your results are stunning, the details and sharpness let you nearly touch it....I still think that the berries are a bit of competition to the bird, because of the vivid colors that are taking my eyes to it, so maybe bluring the stem more so it will be only a hint, what do you think? Pnina

Dmitry, I prefer to keep the orange as well. Actually I think that's the reason why this BJ portrait is so unique. I am very impressed by the fine quality of this image shooting at such high ISO (800). Congrats and thanks for stopping by my port. BTW, you have a very nice portfolio.

Really unique and wonderful shot of this jay! I do think the red/orange in the background is a distraction from your subject, but still love this image.

Pnina, Chris, Pinar, Jerry, Jack, Juan, Chris, Philip, Saleem, thanks for your comments and your opinions!

Jerry and Jack, one good thing about freezing a camera to its bones in winter -- the noise goes down and iso800 is not as terrible anymore! Nikon or Canon, all cameras will do the same.

To Chris Appoldt -- Sex for peanuts in Brookling? Hmmm, I am not sure what I am afraid the most -- AIDS or bird flu :-?
