I used shadow/highlight 40% shadow to bring out detail, then had to smear the sky a bit to eliminate pixelization.

My freind is breaking trail in perfect powder on a good day of backcountry skiing at

Stevens Pass WA. This was my first day out with a new Canon Powershot S80. Photos came

out well, but it will take some practice to get used to.

The way he's the only blot of colour in the winter almost monochrome landscape is quite effective. Did your treatment of the sky actually contribute to the effect?

Jim, this is a great shot. Moving to the side to show that he's breaking trail would also be great.
