I really like what you did here. The extra touch on the moon is really nice. The only thing is that there is a tower on the lower right that has no color, since all the other towers are colored, it seems like that one should be to?

Being totally ignorant of PS I cannot make any suggestions. However I do like the image as it is represented. It has great colors and contrast and certainly to me great depth of field. It is as a color painting more than a photograph. Nevertheless a good image.

Good job.

Embora eu nao seja muito fan de manipulacoes acho que esta esta muito bem feita. O local conheco-o eu, e deixa-me dizer-te que esta tua prespectiva e' deveras interessante. Muito bem, mesmo. Parabens, CC.

Not doing manipulations myself I can't help much with constructive advice but......I can tell you how much I like this composition; you've done a wonderful job creating an imaginative and dramatic image with great mystery and story telling qualities. I love the colors you've chosen to compliment the subject matter. Way to go!

I like it a lot. These manipulated colors and composition are very good. Colors give it some kind of fairytaly like feeling, what makes it more interesting than classical photo.

Thank you guys for your nice comments, they mean a lot to me!

Anastacia, that tower has no colour because in the original photo it didn't have colour either. You may check in the original shot I've uploaded above.

Marco, yes I would say this is already too far from a real photo to be called as one. But I have fun trying to create my own vision!

Kayla, I'm glad it looks surreal for you, since that was kind of my intention.

Carlos, nao sendo um fa de manipulacoes, o teu comentario positivo tem ainda muito mais valor. Obrigado!

Cherlyn, I still hope to improve in the next attempts (:

Susan, I'm glad you liked it. In fact the colours were not chosen, but they make part of the original as you can see above.

Aivar, yes the original photo was pretty classical and not very interesting in my opinion...

Pulok, thanks!

Excellent manipulation. You have a great talent to change a banal photo in a superb image. For me, this is also and always photography. Regards, Henri

I like this manipulation very much. The dark sky and the moon create the haunting effect. The fact that the castle part is still so close to the original but the overall effect so different makes it interesting. I like the sort of 3D effect with the round curved tower. I mustered up some courage to put one of mine (castle), although it is not even half as good as this one.

Reading through the comments, great to see this pic has created an emotional response as Alexandre performed some PS magic to create this gothic dream scene the way his mind remembered...cheers....Tye.

Fantastic! It's great to read that you was inspired by Ada van Duuren and that this your first trail is, making night of a daylight photo.

Inversely Day, it will become a hype soon, I think.

Tell us, what did you do in PS for creating this effect.

Nice greetings from Wim.

Congratulations dear Alex! You've done a fantastic job making a real mysterious, fairy-tale image out of a great sounded base picture. The friendly mood in the original shot has really changed into the perfect setting for a Dracula movie.

I don't gonna ask you how you have managed this, Alex:~) but I'm curious to know which kind of sensations you had while you were busy to create your own dream. My experience is that, working on it, I undergo the transformation of the shot with a constant feel of some sort of a childlike amazement; it gives me in turn pimples and hot fever. And when I'm finished I'm actualy not fully contented and uncertain about the result.

At any rate you can be very contented Alex because your first attempt was really great and succesfull. Many greetings, Ada:)

Psssst Alex, I'm afraid the moon is the only one who can hear the cry for help of the two children on the highest gallery....

Henri, c tr, Tye, thanks for viewing and for your comments, much appreciated.

Wim, this started out as more of an experiment, but here's what I did more or so: changed curves creating some kind of colours aberration, then using a layer mask for the castle, did a lot of burning on it and decreased saturation. Next thing was to add the sky from another picture and finally the moon from yet another photo. That was about it, but I may be forgetting some details, since as I said I was trying different things. Thanks for passing by and for your interest.

Ada, I'm very glad that you like it since I got a good deal of inspiration from your works to try my own and from your technical tips, so I really thank you! You're right calling it a childlike amazement feel while the transformations start gaining shape, that's exactly what makes it so much fun for me. I feel like trying more of this kind, just need to find some free time! And well, I don't know what was the destiny of those two poor souls up there... ;)

Detlef, Julio, Roger, thanks for your nice comments, glad you like this!

Dexter, don't know that game, but it sounds interesting...

Fernando, obrigado!
