Karl Schuler 48 Posted December 3, 2005 Stephen King wrote about this picture: "Without the caption this photo would be OK but not remarkable. With the simple explanation, it transforms, remarkably, into a sublime image. One realises that the boy's expression is a distillation of apprehension, hope and trust, while he barely holds himself together, but knows that is what he must do. The adults, just by gesture and posture convey solicitude and care, in a moment of stillness carved from the disaster. In a formal sense, the image enfolds the space of intimacy between the carers, to convey the tenuous security of the boy, without mawkish emotive gestures." Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 4, 2005 Very nicely captured. Nice job of using the two men to frame the boy. the look on the boys face is heart renching. Your photo tells many storys, of heart beaking saddness, but also of hope, love and kindness of others. I must ask... how did you come to get Stephen King to comment on your photo? Keep shootin' and God bless. -Micah5/6 Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted December 17, 2005 Hi Micah,It was not Stephen King but Steve King from PhotoSig. Sorry for the mistake. Next time I will try to be more correct. Anyway, I find Steve's words very appropriate for this photo. Thanks for your comment. Karl Link to comment
