Karl Schuler 48 Posted December 3, 2005 They had a Community Meeting. We were their guests. The men were sitting in one room, the women were assembled in the adjoining room. The door between the two rooms was half open. The men could speek to the women but without looking at them. The women were encuraged to participe in the discussion. This is a big step forward in the traditionally very conservative society. After the meeting some of the men accepted to pose for a portrait. Of course I could not ask the women to do so. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Karl Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 3, 2005 I believe that the dyeing of hair and beard signifies that a person has visited Mecca, he certainly stands out in this photo - It's an excellent photo and your background information adds to it. Link to comment
