Do You Believe? For those that believe and for those that do

not, this image of the statue of Mary crying (from 11/20/05 to the

present - in Sacramento, California) is submitted as a photo-

journalistic image and is not intended to offend or cause a stir of

religious beliefs. It is simply submitted as a sign regardless

of being a phenomenon, hoax or miracle (as claimed by some).

In a world where there are many signs we either chose to be aware

and/or disregard them whether it be a traffic sign to a cloud in

the sky. In one way or another, signs can mean different things to

different people. For some, a cloud can be a sign and remind them

of something; others are amazed by a beautiful sunrise and/or

sunset; or changes of the seasons; etc., etc. Whatever the signs

may be and/or whatever religious beliefs we have (or not), the

simple reminders of life and reaction we have as human beings make

this world unique (to say the least and not to be political or

religious).

Submitted with respect and submitted for those that are unable to

personally see this statue.

As a photographer, my goal is to simply express what I have seen

through my lens, capture it and share with others my passion for

photographic and artistic expressions.

Critiques and comments welcome. Thank you.

Photographically speaking I think this is a great shot. It is well composed and the lighting is good. Faithfully speaking, I think far too many people pay too much attention to idols and statues. We should put our faith in the unseen living God and not into statues. Doesn't anybody remember the second commandment? But, again, nice photo.

I agree with Mr. King. We put too much 'faith' in statues and ceremony. Having said that, it is a very interesting situation and a very nice photo.

Didn't someone analyze the 'tears'?
