alberto.conde 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Mota del Marques' castle was gunned down by the Napoleon troops when they tried to capture Spain. They were, finally, expelled but left behind scars as these ones.In this snapshot I was, simply, playing with the colour palette that mother nature gifted us with. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Pretty photo. It looks like you had a little trouble merging the sky with land in the upper right. There's a little white band just above the land, and that gives the entire sky a fake/cut out look. Link to comment
Saludos Link to comment
No? Link to comment
Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted November 27, 2005 To enhance skies I use a polarizer filter B+W Warmton Link to comment
Un saludo http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/cordovilla1979/maletin/logo3.jpg Link to comment
Buenisima. Link to comment
Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted November 27, 2005 Great use of colour, Alberto! The bands of colour make the shot beautifully simple and memorable. A really special image of Spain. I am a little acquainted with the history of Spain during Napoleon's time through an interest in the life of Wellington and the painting of Goya. Terrible times for Spain and Portugal fortunately long past. Link to comment
Link to comment
Link to comment
manuelbayo1 0 Posted November 28, 2005 The photo is really nice, Alberto: its colours are poshely arranged in bands, pure elegance that demonstrates your mastery in the way you conceive an image that woud be result in an anodyne shot for most of us. However, I also agree in the slightly unnatural color effect of the sky and the tower. If this is due to the good qualities of velvia film, probably we might say that thing should not only be authentic, but also to seem they are so: in these times of digital (an some times digital excess), there is a risk that natural images can be read as digitally altered photos. carsten_ranke 0 Posted November 28, 2005 Velvia and polarizer, well... As Manuel said, this intense saturation reminds of digitally altered colors. This combo is kind of in-camera color tweak, with strong effects. But I like it (you know that). Artistic composition, as always ;-) Cheers Carsten Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted November 29, 2005 Alberto, we all are here photo-inpsectors! Yes, the effects of the polarizer can be seen on the TLC, but there is also a clearer line, between land and sky that shows some evidence of playing a little with levels in PS to achieve that deep green color... It is not that is wrong.. but the colors look too much oversaturated, hence, no so natural... Anyway, compo is veyr good with that flowered foreground, and the three colourful areas...
