Quilter's hands were moving very fast, I wanted to show the

movement... did it work or does the blur detract from the portrait?

I like the blur of the hand. I think it gives a sense of motion to the image. However, I think I would loose the "frame" around the picture. It seems very "photoshopish" to me, and personally I feel that it draws too much attention away from the portrait.
