davidmccracken 2 Posted November 26, 2005 Sebastian, You echo my feelings on this image. Thank you for that. Gusatavo, Thanks. I like this one myself. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 26, 2005 Thanks Jayme. I thought this one was quite good but it doesn't seem to be a very big hit. Oh well! It is good to know you appreciate it. Thanks. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted November 26, 2005 I like this a lot. The way the face is cropped by the mirror is excellent as is the positioning in the frame. This was an excellent concept that was executed very well. -Owen Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Dramatic look from the model, wondrful blurred background, that touch of red in the foreground contrast very well with the green in the background, the "perfect crop" of the mirror. I just love it. Very well done. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 26, 2005 Owen, I held back on uploading this as it is a little personal. However, I really did like this one and felt it was worthy of posting. Your comments have told me I did not waste my time. Thanks. Alex, The dramatic look from the model is why this image is personal. I do really like this shot and it is good to know that you do too. Thank you both. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted November 27, 2005 The reason that it hasn't been such a big hit, David, is that you caught her with her clothes on for a change (a change for you and your style of shooting, that is). This is as powerful as anything that I have seen you do, not framed perfectly, but still very, very powerful. I'm not knocking your nudes, David, but just reflecting on the fact that, for the public at least, they have eclipsed your truly most exquisite work. The best leave and go to Photopoints, it seems. --Lannie Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 27, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to comment Landrum. While I agree with most of what you say, there are a few exceptions. You can look here, or here, or even here for examples of that. I appreciate that you think this is powerful as anything I have done. I would agree. Thanks for that. If you think the framing could be improved, I would be grateful to know in what way. Thanks a lot. By the way, I am on photopoints. So far I have uploaded 4 deleted pictures. All 4 received 'Featured Photo of the Day' status. Link to comment

davidmccracken 2 Posted November 28, 2005 Marco, Thanks for the kind words. I felt this one was quite good myself but I am not always a good judge of my own photos. It's good to know others do like it. Enimga, Thanks C. Ditto what I said to Marco. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted November 28, 2005 The composition is good David. Is there just a spot of focus missing around the eye? Whatever, a good shot. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 28, 2005 Thanks a lot John. I think the focus is on the hair. This was taken in a bit of a rush and so that is why I made the reference to a snapshot! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 3, 2005 Terrific concept and well executed. I just wish I could get away with wearing such a delicious shade of lipstick! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted December 4, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to comment. This is a personal favourite. I am sure you would look good with any colour of lipstick. Link to comment
blowingsky 0 Posted December 4, 2005 David-- It's an excellent image. The strong colors are an initial lure. But then, we are being regarded and that also holds attention. But are we? Or is she looking at herself? This principle ambiguity right on top of the soft, sensual slightly parted lips is what raises this image into the fine art zone, far above the cliche of a woman looking in her make up mirror. Your photo has the same affect on us as a woman's make up is intended to. There is much going on here. Well done. Link to comment
angel_pena 0 Posted December 5, 2005 So cool. Different images always coming from you..ummm... good. If one day you find something similar in my porfolio don't be amazed. ;-) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 5, 2005 been here a few times but never with anything to write - excellent shot. I even find the red oof dot(possible flower) non bothersome. Knicki Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted December 21, 2005 Peter, I am humbled by the amount you have written about this image. I do like it myself. Thanks do not seem enough.... but thank you. Angel, I would be very flattered to see something in your portfolio similar to this. I look forward to seeing it. Knicki, Knowing you have seen the image is feedback enough for me. The fact that you have studied it in so much detail is very pleasing indeed. Vasilis, Thanks very much. Thanks everyone. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted December 21, 2005 Hello David Inventive as ever - the title is well chosen. How did she hold the mirror still enough to prevent a blurred image? Regards, Nick. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted December 22, 2005 I have no idea. I guess she has a steady hand! Link to comment
