I've made this picture by daylight in the old and historical centre

of Brugges. I've tried to give it an evening mood. I hope you like

it.

Your constructive comments will be very appreciated.

Thank you, Ada

Excellent treatment. One could swear it is a night shot. I was in Brugge last october but I don't remind this street. If you want you can see some of the photos I took there. Regards, Henri

Ada, beautiful art work! I would never say this was originally a day shot. I love the detail of the moon peeking at the bottom; it makes the eyes travel nicely along the street towards its light. I would be very happy if you could share some of your PS technique to achieve this look. Warm greetings! Alex

I must admit this is the best image I've seen today on PN.

Congratulations for an exceptionally good omposition and a great exposure that combine in a fantastic image.

I really appreciate the time you took to watch and comment this picture. Because I'm a relative beginner in photography as well in PS I'm always in doubt about my own work so I really need constructive criticism to become more skilfull and self-assured. Thank you all for your support!!!

Alex you ask me to tell about the technique I use to create a picture like this one. Well, I don't have a special method. I've played around in PS with 'curves' and 'hue and saturation' and after doing that I've used the burn and dodge tools to give extra accents where I think it's needful. For the small sky part with the moon I've used an other picture I've made once before and mixed the two shots. That is all I have done! So no big tricks; I only spent many hours working on it in Photoshop. (Please, have compassion with my husband! lol)

In fact I've followed the same procedure as I did with the picture of Bruges with the small bridge, do you remember? I think so:~)

Many greetings to all of you! Ada:)

This is very effective, Ada. I would still like to see the original to see the detail, but that is not to take away from what you have done with it.

Thank you both very much for your comments. Though I wonder if I disturb the dreamlike sphere of the picture I will reply with your request Lannie and show the original version of the picture.

Karl, I've considered your suggestion while I worked up the picture. But I've taken the fall of the moonlight and the little light of the lamppost in account as the only sources of light in this picture. It's very personal I think but it was my idea that it would be more logical to let the light fade away in the left area; the area which is only lighten up by the lamppost in contrast to the right where the moonlight falls in. At any rate, thanks very much for your constructive comment.

Greetings, Ada:)

Now you know to which picture I pointed Pnina when I asked you how you manage it to make such a great exposed gateway shots;) Thank you very much for your appreciation of the result of my fantasy. Warm Greetings from a cold and snowy Holland!

Hey when you get inspired amazing things happen :)

This is fantastic Ada. You have outdone yourself both in composition and lighting on this shot! I imagine a single figure leaning against the left wall with smoke from a cigerette drifting upward. Very mysterious atmosphere you have created with some excellent PS work. The iron work at the top ties it all together and accentuates the angle you have taken this from. Outstanding my dear, you never fail to amaze us :) Warn thoughts, Nova :)

Very moody and a good departure from the original. As Paula, I love the slight curve. Good addition of the moon. I just wish the gate at left was a bit brighter

I like the atmosphere of this photo Ada.The entrance gate to some medieval or renesans city, nice colours and lamps giving soft light and underlying the beauty of this place.Very good shot.Greetings.Krzysztof

Ada, you have created a great atmosphere here with your PS work. I like how you have given the whole thing a night time feel and changed the lighting. Clever! (I don't remember this bit of Bruges)
