just an excellent moment!

fantastic clarity todd... creates an enhanced feeling of interaction in keeping with the child's innocent fragility. great pose and composition, though my eye feels "pushed" upward... making me wonder if more of the babe's shoulders/arm could have been included. Nevertheless the comp does add great emphasis. In fact the composition seems to keep it a "surprise"... boo!

I'm really impressed with this. I think what does it for me is the half smile and look in the eye seem so shrewd and mature, like an expression one would expect from someone 40 years or older, but the pudgy fingers are so baby-like. I think I agree with Matt about the composition, but then I had a look at cropping in the L to the shoulder which I think anchors it a bit better - just a thought. I've attached it in case you're interested, and I also had a look at removing the reflection in the eye. Nice shot!
