stevespencer 0 Posted November 22, 2005 You have several very nice shots up here, and this is one of them. This could maybe use just a tiny bit more unsharp mask? Good job. -s Link to comment
yinkamd 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Thanks S Spencer for your very valuable critique. I am a beginner essentially and have noticed that my photos are not as sharp as I would like. They are generally tripod shots with a timer release, therefore it is not due to camera shake or poor focus. Thought it might be the lens. I do use unsharp mask, with a 100% setting and a 1 pixel radius. Since I am just starting off, what settings would you advise in photoshop? Thanks again! Yinka Link to comment
stevespencer 0 Posted November 23, 2005 I think, because of the larger images produced by that camera, maybe a higher radius, but not over 1, and experiment with the amount (percent), until you are satisfied with the result. The canons at thier default settings expect there to be some post-shooting sharpening. A lot of people bought the 10D and didn't realize this, posting a lot of very soft images that would benefit from sharpening. This is all anecdotal, my own observation, not scientific or technical info. Thank you, and any helpful critiques you have for my photos are appreciated. -s Link to comment
grammy 0 Posted November 25, 2005 This is very nice, and hard to believe you have been in photography for a short time. You have many nice photos. I don't have much experience in critques, but know what I like. Link to comment
