Ice Cliff & Moon

This huge (hundreds of ft. high) ice cliff hung poised safely to the side of the 11,000 ft.

camp. When we descended the mountain we saw that a large section had avalanched -

wish I could have seen that!

I have always been fascinated by the way such cliffs actually stand on mountains, and do not just collapse at your mere watching them.

Here, there is a strong visual tension between the ice cliff and the moon, and I am lead to believe that is the moon indeed which is keeping the thing up... contrasting gravity.
