Nice not overloaded photo. I like simplicity. IMO little too much of green at the bottom. 3 equal parts of blue orange and green could improove composition.

A real eye-catcher! I don't know why but I find this makes me smile. It seems a playful image somehow - hope it was not meant to be serious! I like how you have lined up the top of the cacti with the slope of the mountain behind. And the mountain is in sunshine while the cacti are in shadow. Living/not living. Different but connected?

Kalaga, I guess I am crazy about my new wide angle lens. Thank you everybody for your comments. jana

Sorry, but the butte appears to be growing from the top of the cactus, a big misplacement of subject. If you used a wide angle lens, I'm supposing this was a matter of cropping too much off the photo. It also seems the butte is out of focus, appears flat against the cactus. I know you'll love your new lens when you get used to the differences it causes when used. Have fun, look for more photo from you :)

Love the photo. Here's a version with a brighter foreground and a warmer look. I like the foreground blues, but it's fun to consider options. Now the greens stand out more against the blue sky.

Thanks for your comments.

Charly, I didnot crop at all, my wide angle was just in the cactus. I wanted the butte to grow out of the cactus. I am glad the idea came over.

I like it! David's version looks cool too. It looks like the cacti are worshiping the rock formation... All hail the mighty orange rock..

Thanks for taking a negative crit so well - some people would not have been as gracious. Have a wonderful day :)

I like the dominating cactus in the foreground. Maybe the only vegetation in this aerea: That deserves being the main subject. Nice shot.

Jana, your talent astounds me. I'm actually not sure where to even start in your portfolio! Everything appeals to me - all of your work! This photograph is also just amazing - stuning on the eye. I've left a comment for you on my Surreal Pub photo - please take a moment to read it, nice story.

Warm regards.

A beautiful way to make a portrait of the optunia in the foreground. I admire your use of glowing evening color, something that I myself cannot do very well.
