alecee 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Have you tried rowing a round bottom boat? These kids apparently mastered the art. Let free to play in deep water without parental supervision. Link to comment

joanbn 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Looks like they were having a great time but, being a grandmother, I'd be nervous watching them even though they weren't my children. Great photo. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Hi Joan, I read your bio-data and I am duly impressed. It goes to show it's never too late to learn the art of photography. Your images is an inspiration to others of what a person can do if the will is there. Truly remarkable, thanks for coming by. Link to comment

salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 22, 2005 Those basked-boats are amazing, I remember having tried in Nha Trang... I like the way you've caputured the action, here, as well as the tones of the scene. The composition of the three boats is interesting, as well as the different poses and actions of the kids. I would propose this tighter crop for your consideration. Here the rationale behind it - I like the way the horison is clear, in my proposal, like suggesting some endless adventure the kid might imagine playing, when opposed to reassuring land and floating things - I prefer to have more of the energy of the "rowing" and find tighter crops usually convey more of the energy of the motion Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted November 23, 2005 Kalaga, Kaushik, thanks for the comments. Salvatore, appreciate your time taken to view and comment on my image. Your proposal is great. I think both shots complement each other. What I've tried to do is to show how care-free parents are here as the kids row out into the deep by themselves. You'll never find these in developed countries. There'll be lifeguards, parents and compulsory life-vest for them. I am also pleasantly surprised by the crisp light on the kids compared with the neutral background colors due to the cloudy sky. Sometimes a mood shot can be better then on a clear day. (attached a kid losing balance taken by my photo buddy Vincent.) Link to comment
