I'd like to see his elbow. His shadow and framing tells me that this guy is concerned about his past more than about the recent earthquake.

Great and shocking picture. I think he's lost not only because of the destruction after the earthquake but because of the tough life he's had in general...

The composition here is just excellent Karl, with his back turned on the picture of destruction. I also love the high to low contrast transition from foreground to background. The only thing I might consider is cropping a small strip off the top, to the base of the red and white tower, as the green trees and bright tower work a little against the sense of destruction for me - but this is really a trivial point. Well done.
