warren williams 0 Posted November 7, 2005 Ken, she's a really beautiful model. I like the softness of the image, it really does it justice. My only gripe (and this counts for all 3 pics is the background - I don't think it suits her femininity. Warm regards. Warren Link to comment

steve_lowther 0 Posted March 17, 2007 I have viewed this image before; I just want to comment on it now. Having a gorgeous models helps, but you did a lot of things right here. One thing is how you broke a rule and got away with it. That is, you have a mixed key, both light and dark values, in the foreground and background. Usually this is enough to destroy a composition by itself. However, you carried it off very well, probably due to the very strong diagonal. Even the geometrics of the window work for you here. The background wouldn't contribute as well as it does without the verticals on the horizonal right at eye level. That is another important component -- the eye level bar. Above or below the eye it would ruin the flow of the image. The pose is simple, yet the bare shoulder rounded towards the camera emphasizes her femininity. And the most important quality of light here is that it is short light. You avoided the temptation of moving to the left and shooting into the right side of her face. The soft focus works very well. I can almost complain that the contrast may be a bit flat, but I would have to see it bumped up and compared before I could say for sure. Soft focus naturally tends to reduce contrast. I wonder what it would look like with a subtle frame? Keep up the good work, Ken. Link to comment
