timothy_hough 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Beautiful. Nice work. Did you try a version of the same scene with the shoreline placed on the lower third instead of the upper? You have emphasized the reflections over the actual trees. Nothing wrong with that but it would be interesting to try one with the real trees emphasized over the reflections. THEN you could pick the best version of two great pix. However, if there was an objectional element that forced this particular view, well...change nothing. Link to comment
yinkamd 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Thanks Timothy. I did not, but it is something I will try. The reflections are just amazing! Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Forget the one third rule, that only referred to a third turn to fit the lens hood of a Leica 28mm. Use the one eighth rule here and show almost no trees but the reflections. Much more ripples and you could have centred the lake shore to equally show trees, and abstract reflections. Composition on the right is not strict. The pix goes on and on and on. Maybe crop off all to the right of the tree above the white canoe? If you do a vertical shot, you would have a naturally a tighter crop. Link to comment
k-lys 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Bordel de Merde! Next time you want to shoot, I recommand you to install your equipement and to give Thomas Turk a call... Then he ll make you a wonderfull shot... That will be quicker than seying him telling you what you should have done... Link to comment
