Guest Guest Posted November 5, 2005 Lovely. Perfectly positioned, light and shadow balance. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted November 5, 2005 Hanna, perfectly captured. . . a beautiful image. Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted November 13, 2005 I'm one of your "moaners" about flower shots but, if everyone's were this good I wouldn't complain about it. Nicely lit, stark composition. Great work. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted November 15, 2005 Style and grace. Were you trying to imply taking a bow, or simply impersonating a royal couple? Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted November 15, 2005 Beautiful in colour, detail and composition. But the shot also captures an autumn feeling of graceful melancholy. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted November 16, 2005 Thankyou to all of you for your encouraging comments. These seedheads have always reminded me of kings and queens, so David you're certainly on the same wavelength. And their form is so photogenic, I enjoyed doing their 'portrait'. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted November 17, 2005 Nice Hanna! ......... describe the lighting and set-up if you pleaseee ..... sol Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted November 17, 2005 You know me Ken, nothing complicated. I don't recall exactly, but as I don't use flash it would have been ambient west window light, where I do most of my indoor shots, and tripod with selftimer of course. Sorry to be so vague... it's a blonde thing. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted November 18, 2005 lol at the blonde thing... so often when folks ask for my "tech details" ... I just have to shake my blonde locks and say... you must be kidding. love the photo Hanna. The title made me think of an elderly couple who are still close, the taller sheltering the smaller. abintraphoto 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Ok you two - I'm not buying that 'dumb' thing ... sol Your skill in this area is obvious Hanna -- try black and a white piece of 2'x3' (ish) foam core to reflect and block light from different angles and see what you think ... ? Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Thanks Ken. Flattery always works, and the instructions are helpful too. Link to comment
havaux_tranis_robert 0 Posted November 23, 2005 Thank you so much for your kind comments and congratulations for this beautiful image. Link to comment
ransford 0 Posted February 24, 2006 I like the king and queen analogy (I thought of chess pieces before I read the comments). Regardless, I can't imagine any improvement to this fine image. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Chess pieces....what a good idea. Thanks Radford. Link to comment
deniselanterman 0 Posted May 3, 2007 Very elegant. A beautiful capture. I love the hint of color and simple composition. It was fun to read all the comments about what these seed pods were reminiscent of. Cheers. Denise Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted May 4, 2007 Denise, thanks for dropping in. I love photographing these poppy seed heads as they provide such interesting character. From the stage of early bud through beautiful blooms to this dessicated form, they are great fun to shoot. I'm looking forward to this year's crop and their cycle of life. Link to comment
