salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 4, 2005 The comments of the passer-bys while I was staring at this wall were for sure interesting: I'm sure you fellow photo.netters have much more interesting comments to offer...do you? Link to comment

daily_photograph 0 Posted November 7, 2005 What did you see before? (Beware: Psychological tests are of this kind ...) Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 7, 2005 Daily, gone through a few of those tests before... In this case, I just saw, well... a wall! I liked the concrete->paint->bricks sort of evolution and therefore framed it as such. Now, of course, I see the lady (grumpy) coming back from shopping... Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted November 7, 2005 Lady with shopping? No, no, no... I see... Pompeii. A women clutching her baby to her breast, as the ash settles over, charring them. Her face is distorted and squeezed with fear. Hundreds of years later, their remains are uncovered and the wind erodes their carbonized forms, revealing the untouched Roman clay underneath. I see... a poor country boy, run away from home, heading through the city gates into a dirty, smog covered city, his few belongings slung across his back, his eyes closed in contemplation, wondering how he'll make his living in a place so alien from home. I see... em... a schoolgirl with a teddybear backpack! Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 7, 2005 Stephen, you will be surprised to know that this wall sits just a few kilometers, and in full view, of the Vesuvio volcano...which wiped-off Pompei! Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted November 8, 2005 It's interesting how many interpretations we can read from an image like this when we let imagination loose. It tells that the photograph is well composed and invites further "exploration". Regards, Link to comment
