Sondra, I consider this quite a good shot. I'm no bird watcher, so it's just my guess, that the bird is a Loon that's perched so elegantly on the boat's bow. Anyway it's a plus for this composition. Of course IR is my favorite medium....Jim

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Pnina, I feel the same way about the low ratings. Maybe they just don't understand what a good photo should contain or they are trying to purposely keep your ratings down. There's a rotten apple in every basket. Cheers, Sondra

Sondra, In my original comment on this photo, I also had a few choice words about the "Low Raters", but decided not to, just yet..... I think I know the name of at least one of them, but I'm not 100% sure yet. These characters, don't bother me in the slightest when they drop a 1,2,or 3 on me, since they do the same to some of the very best photographers on PN, and that makes me feel like they consider me in that group, even if it is just around the edges.....Jim

Beautiful atmosphere of nature quietly at work. The bird is good! I see anonymous ratings from the rate recent queue as similar to the reactions you might get from a random stream of people visiting an art gallery. Some appreciate what they see, others are there to stay out of the rain and have no understanding or sympathy with the work on display. Beautiful light in this one!
