Not just another bird picture! The orange is unfortunate but otherwise, nicely done.

This is just great! A bird without a bird in the frame (or something like that). Well done! But what is the orange wash stretching from the middle top down to the right??

Thanks for your comments, the orange is a wide ray of light reflected in the water, and IMO adds interest to the composition... but it is me... Pnina

what a cool reflection of Mr Bird Pnina!, I love how it's distorted by the water's movement. Yes I too thought big koi! :))) Too big for the bird to devour!

What a interesting composition. Very refreshing photo to the everyday bird pic. I would not have known what the orange is without explanation. It appears to be something really close to the lens. Now that I do know what it is...it does add interest. Good shooting Pnina

Pnina, here is a page with an image that might show what we mean...they can get quite large but not as large as it would have to have been in relationship to the size of that bird.:)))

Hi Pnina, I really hate to mimic others words, but suppose I have to here... what a refreshing view for a normally "plain ol'" bird photo! I'm as yet undecided what to think about the gold splotch... at first look I thought it highly distracting, but... the more I view it, the more I like its inclusion. Excellent capture!

Challenging image with the gold blur but, I think, effective. At first sight, I didn't expect the image to be a reflection. But once viewed as a reflection, the image becomes much more interesting, because at least 4 planes are represented in the one 'surface plane' of the image - the surface of the water, serving also as a mirror for all the other planes, the ripples on the surface, then, at a distance from the surface of the water, the bird and tree branches, but presented as a reflection, and finally, more distant, the underside of a cloud, which in turn is reflecting sunrise / sunset light (if that's what it is). And of course the whole thing's upside down.

Don, it was taken with 214mm ( 70-300mm).

Els,PS...PS...I think you don't use it , but if yes: Image-rotate canvas, 180 degrees, and thats it.Of course it dependes if rotating adds to the image....I thought that in this one it adds.
