Well, I don't approve of smoking (I've almost given up;)) but the photo is very much to my liking.

Excellent composition. The technical work is admirable: everything is in the suitable place. The smoke that works out just for the lips has a great realism. The triangular disposition is very guessed right, the point of fugue of the smoke in the corner a wisdom, and the alone illuminated face is a marvel.

It's okay for me overall, but maybe the cigarette is too much out of DOF?

That's exactly what i want to shoot at my next portrait photosession - low natural available light portraits.

Just one question: was this shot taken in a studio or with natural lighting?

I like the out of focus cigarette, and the way she emerges from the inky shadows...very well done!
