aepelbacher 0 Posted October 29, 2005 I like the lines and repititions here. What do you think? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 29, 2005 Lou Ann, I like the lines, repetition and especially the title ;-)!!....well seen and cropped. Pnina Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 29, 2005 Thanks, Pnina! I actually spent quite a bit of time playing with the perspective on this ... and am still not satisfied ... I think it's still leaning a bit. :-) But I was really very pleased with all of the thirds. Thanks for visiting! Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Really nice, Lou Ann. The symmetry of composition and the details really work for me. One of your better images IMHO. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted October 30, 2005 I think you did great with perspective correction. Very nice capture of architectural detail and good decision to go with b&w on this one. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 30, 2005 I like the lines and repititions too and it made me smile :-) - 'all life is here!'. Nice formal shot and very well lined up. The odd thing is that everything is straight except for the pediment with the 'Comedie....Opera...Tragedie' on it which rises slightly to the right. -er? Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Although I KNOW that the camera wasn't held correctly to get a straight shot, I also believe that the building may not have been exactly "straight" either! Here's the original for comparison..... Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Beautiful and classic architectural photography. Well done, Lou Ann! Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted November 4, 2005 hmmm...yes, definitely a bit wonky. (There's one for your US-UK dictionary!) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted November 4, 2005 Um, so, Colin ... you're agreeing that it's not quite level, huh? Link to comment
novastorm 0 Posted November 4, 2005 Lou Ann, great to see you coming along with your PS skills. Nice exposer and balance here. It's not far enough out to bother my eye, but thats not saying much I am allways accused of being out of wack. Keep up the good work. Cheers Nova :) Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Sorry Lou Ann, you will perhaps be angry against me, but I am not sure that this photo merit so much of 6. I find it boring, without nothing attracting, the light is frontal, forming no interesting shadow on the facade, there is no search in the composition, you have contented yourself with cuting up a rectangle in the facade, divided in six equal parts... Really, I don't understand what is there here so interesting. Regards, Henri. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Nope, Henri ... not at all angry with you. I most certaily appreciate your candor. I think this image needs context to be appreciated. In fact, I don't think that it would stand alone. Hey - you gave me an idea. Wait a bit, and then check out my next upload. :-) Warm regards! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted November 7, 2005 That's right - the pediment appears to be off just a tiny bit. But I shouldn't worry about it. Old buildings are often not quite straight. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Nice crop, and perspective correction is really perfect. Has enough interest for me (country bumpkin, I am) Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Hello, Lou Ann, is this the front of the Comedie Francaise in Paris, or some other theater? A symbol of classical drama in France, Moliere for comedy, Racine for Tragedy and I don't remember the third character right now? A well-chosen subject for a beautiful photograph. I find B&W an excellent choice. Link to comment
