bob_brins 0 Posted October 28, 2005 I like the subject placement and the soft color of the background. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted October 30, 2005 What's up with the very low ratings on this??? It's very appealing to me. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Bob and Kim, thanks for taking a closer look. Kim, there are those who rate originality on the subject matter, and those who hate flower shots. I just accept that. I used a +3 quantaray magnifying filter on these and I was pleased with how it threw the background grasses out of focus. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 31, 2005 Daft ratings as Kim says. Never mind - it's a beauty. Can' decide between this and the previous. Both very good indeed. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted November 3, 2005 Very beautiful rendition Hanna, nice DOF. I like your framing as well. Pnina Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted November 3, 2005 I love this, Hanna. Similar to a posting of Roger's...(http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3680365) To me very aesthetically pleasing, though not for everyone's tastes. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted November 3, 2005 Thankyou all. Linda, it is similar to Roger's albeit not quite as serendipidous. In our mild climate these poppies appear and reappear well into the autumn and are often a cheery splash on an otherwise dreary landscape so they make me smile. Link to comment

ronda 0 Posted August 2, 2008 I really like this capture! I have to admit I have tried taking shots of the ones I have in my yard but I can't get the blur. hanna_cowpe 0 Posted August 2, 2008 Ronda, think about buying the Canon 500D close-up filter for your 24-105L or your 100-400L and it will open up new opportunities for you. It's an excellent quality filter. Failing that you could go for a Hoya or Quantaray set of 3 which are less complex and cheaper. They can be stacked but that reduces quality and depth so you need to manual focus and be precise. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
ronda 0 Posted August 2, 2008 Hanna that close up filter is next on my list of things to get. Thank you. Link to comment
