Great picture Colin, I'm trying to understand what post processing you've applied here, the effect is very nice, makes it almost feel like a Constable.

I've also been experimenting with post processing, would appreciate your comments on my latest posting.

Cheers - Ben

Colin, for me, this is the one( color freak..)composition and rendition are great I like the way the fg. one is like framing the smaller one.The green fields are forming the right concept. Well cropped! Pnina

Thanks, Antonius, Libor, Ben, Pnina, Kalaga and GianLuca! I appreciate your kind comments. I was trying to achieve a water-colour kind of feel to this.

Ben, Kalaga, you can see from the upload that the original capture (including power lines etc!) was quite dark so the colours are quite saturated. It was drizzling at the time.

Post-processing : As above I was trying for a watercolour effect so the main aim was to make the shot more luminous. I can't remember the exact method used but it involved using several layers of different opacities mostly selecting the background green areas to lighten, brighten and slightly desaturate the yellow/green of the fields. Also to bring up detail in the wagons by using levels and sharpening. The detail in the sky was brought out using a couple of layers.

Pnina - we colour freaks must stick together!

It was a good idea to post-process this one. Looking at the original I would have done the same, as the composition is very good already. I've gone for the darker in some of my recent landscapes, but this one deserves credit.

Thanks Michael, it will not be everyone's ideal but I am having a lot of fun with PS lately and seeing what can be done.

Thank you, Alexandra, yes I am back with a new computer and more photos. I spent some time going round and round these ld carts getting wet in the rain and trying to find the best shot with the landscape in the background as you say.

My vote for this as I love colours too. The effect applies here are excellent. So much improvised from the original.

I love the pastel colour original - its rare to see this interpretation on PN - people either saturate the shot a lot or make it bw. This is really nice, gives a feeling of calm and peace, and harvesting season approaching. Superb!

This is such a great composition Colin. I like the paintingstyle it radiatas and it really surprises me that those style is already visible for a part in the original shot. Those wagons are so beautifully shaped and so decorative. You've created a very romantic landscape image, Colin and I love the soft pastelcolours in it. Excellent! 7/7 Greetings, Ada:)

This is an excellent composition, Colin, and I like the effects you applied as it looks like a painting from the past. The amngle is perfect, forms a diagonal line. Really well done. I prefer this one.

Perfect photoshop work! The soft colours are great, the composition is very interesting, but what I like most is the 'real' foreground fading away into a perfect painting on the background. Well done! Alex

Fine image, Colin; I like what Alexandra had to say about this and agree - beautiful work. The post processing is an interesting addition.

Seems as though our computers broke down the same day. While waiting for the main board to come in, I decided to go ahead and do a new build, so ordered more parts.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Ada, I am always surprised how few stright lines there are in these traditional carts. You would think it would be easier to make than with the lovely curves and details.

Richard - commiseartions about the computer. I hope you are now both well again. In my case the old comuter was so old decided a new one would be a better long term investment.

Colin, very fine capture with great shadow & highlight detail, composition, and color. Makes me want to go to Northshire right now!

Lots already said. i agree, prefer the color, very attractive piece of work, evokes a pleasing contry scene beautifully, done with a sure master's hand. your partial desaturations and coloring work is very inspiring, and I expect to make a copycat effort at some point when I can muster the courage. highest form of flattery, you know.
