Ready for The Halloween

Not much to say here ..... Long exposure, very little natural

daylight from the side ... The pumpkins started out as seed in my

kitchengarden ... and what else to do with them other than shoot

them? ...all of it was on purpose!!!!!!!

...one more thing to tell: Please look at in the larger version.

And... not much to criticize here. Superb lighting, exposure, camera position and perspective. Fabulous background. Strict and balanced composition. Dont need much natural color here so drab experimental digits are fine for this shot.

It's great. It all fits together. Everything works.

Mustafa .... thanks for your comment too. You might be right it could need some USM but on the other hand I have to tell you that it looks exactly how I wanted it to look. It's right out of the camerea and one of the last takes before it got to dark to shoot in natural daylight. It has the mood I wanted to get. Thanks for taking you the time to let me know your opinion.

 

 

The pumpkins ... oh yess, it is the pumpkins you saw when you spend some days with me in my place.

For the moment they are placed in my barn ... big heavy models indeed and quite a job to move around with... here arranged for this photo. I'm happy you found it and happy too that you like it Lou Ann.

...and now I wonder what to do with 9 big heavy pumpkins. Do you btw have some recepies for pumpkins?

Hi Bente, beautiful lighting in this subdued image. . good composition . . . I guess you can always carve the pumpkins and light them with candles. . . I don't know whether halloween is just an american tradition?. . .

You did get the 'mood' IMO (with the light you had?), and it is good they are ready for haloween, so let's get started and cut those things........

very nice and daringly dark - I like it especially because it stays natural, you don't need any colour enhancers or softeners.

"Daringly dark" is very descriptive. I too like that aspect of this image, in addition to the really nice composition.

Lighting, colour and composition are all very good. I am just starting doing some still life but have only done cameras and books so far - not got to pumpkins yet.

A 5-stars lighting for this image ! Composition works fine as well, and the darkness finely creates the mood of Halloween.

I like how the shadows support the form.
