an old photo taken at an exhibit openning & peotry reading (early '90s);

not much available light to compose in; used a camera-mounted flash;

sometimes a picture goes beyond mere technicalities and this is one of those.i love the emotion coming through,the pensive mother,the impatient but obedient child,this has the feel of a real classic to it.

Thank you so much for your encouraging critique Parvin...yours is my introductory critique to photo.net and I'm pleased that it was a positive one...especially since this is one of my favorite photos...I pulled it out of the frame and scanned it...something was lost with the scan but the essence of the photo is there, and I still like it -- and not just because I'm now married to the woman in the photo : )
