tony_hnojcik 0 Posted October 22, 2005 This is one boy whu was born with deformites. He himself have spirit and body, but out of his control. Born like that, he lives as a plant, till the end of his life. He is not the only one. Many like him are living all around the world, with care of other people. But nobady knows about them, because they are living behind closed doors. Link to comment

darr 0 Posted October 22, 2005 An awareness stirs within us all... maybe this could be the catalyst for a photojournalist story. Thank you for being bold enough to share. Link to comment

scmassey 0 Posted October 23, 2005 What a powerful photograph. The bars of the bed are very effective. I want to know more about this young man. How old is he? Where is he? Who takes care of him? What are his joys? Tell us more. Link to comment

eamonn.higgins 0 Posted October 24, 2005 This is a powerful picture - but a child with this type of cerebral palsy does not have to 'live like a plant' until they die. If they are properly cared for they can recieve sensory and sometimes intellectual stimulation, they can interact with their environment and communicate -perhaps not as you or I do, but this is not a plant, it is a human being. stephan dietrich 0 Posted October 25, 2005 Tony: By taking this picture and posting on Photo.net you have spoken volumes about this individual and others like him. In a world where Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie make the headlines - this image belongs up there as well. But, as for images like this (or others that make you stop, think, ponder and react, etc., etc.) people tend to look the other way - - sad to say. This is a very powerful and emotional image! You have gone far beyond a photograph. Thank you for your submission. Here's to not looking the other way. Perfect 7s! Link to comment
