maria 7 Posted October 20, 2005 Hi Sarah, thanks for the kind comment. It is a very nice place, I am happy if it comes across. The last day before taking the plane I spent under these trees, on that stone border, reading a book. kind regards Maria Link to comment
maria 7 Posted October 22, 2005 Thanks for the comment. It is a nice place also, it was called in prospects "rediscovered Paradise" (mainly because it is not so full of tourists). The village of Psakoudia has something like 40 houses, and the next locality is more than 30km away. There is no internet, buses come 3 times a day and do not stop always, the mobile phone wasn't always working. The beach isn't great, but I had a wonderful view on the window (see another photo). Also what impressed me what that the vegetation was rather temperate, and not the usual Mediteranean with palm trees and so. These trees I've seen home since I was small. In Thessaloniki the climate is much worse (wet, less wind), a friend in Greece told me this is because of the mountains behind. Even Athens has a nicer climate than Thessaloniki. Now it happens that with one exception all my friends in Greece are in Thessaloniki, and the one who is in Athens also has close relatives there ... I am sure I will return sooner or later to the location. thanks for lookingMaria Link to comment
maria 7 Posted October 24, 2005 In Halkidiki, a peninsula vis-a-vis of the Olymp mountains and southern of Thessaloniki, in Northern Greece. Part of the peninsula, in fact a peninsula of the peninsula, is the Mount Athos. The climate is pleasant and, as the picture, taken mid-day, the region is not invaded by tourists.
