kymtman 1 Posted October 18, 2005 Shot this as the sun was setting. These are leaves of a Black Gum that always are full of reds and yellows in late fall. Canon 20D Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted October 19, 2005 Hi Ron, I like the colors. It may be your intention but I find myself struggling to find a solid point of focus. I like the background. Link to comment
kymtman 1 Posted October 19, 2005 Jamie, your are correct. There is no point of focus without knowing why it is named so. The Blackgum is the first to show color of all the trees. It starts in mid summer or even earlier if it is a dry season. It is said that it being the first of color is Autumns Paintbrush. Very simple. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted October 21, 2005 Thanks, Ron. I didn't know that. Looking at the picture again, and armed with that information, I notice that the shape of the leaves and branches reflects that of a paintbrush. Cool! Link to comment
